What is MFA?
Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA) is a security feature that adds an extra layer of protection to your account. With MFA, you need to confirm your identity in more than one way. This means that even if someone knows your username and password, they can't access your account without completing the second step of verification.
When will I be asked to set up MFA?
There are two main situations where you may be prompted to set up MFA:
-
- Changing Your Email Address: If you update the email address linked to your account, you'll be required to set up MFA.
- Security Alerts: If our system detects a potential security risk when you log in, you may be prompted to set up MFA to protect your account in the future.
What types of authentication methods can I use for MFA?
You can choose from the following methods:
-
- SMS Verification: A one-time code is sent to your phone via text message.
- Authenticator App: An authenticator app of your choice that generates one-time codes.
What should I do if I don't receive the MFA code?
If you don't receive the SMS code, you can simply resend a new one. If resending a new code still doesn’t work, please contact Customer Service for assistance.
What if I can't verify my account and set up MFA?
If you cannot locate your email OTP (one-time password), be sure to check your junk mail or spam folder. If you still can't verify your account using the email OTP, please contact Customer Service for further assistance.
How do I add or remove an MFA method?
You can manage your MFA methods through your account security settings page.
Can I use more than one MFA method?
Yes, when you first enroll in MFA, the method you enroll with will be set up for you. However, you can add extra methods through your Account settings to enhance security. While you can add multiple methods, please note that you can only remove all but one. You'll always need at least one active method for your account's security.
Can I turn off MFA completely?
No, once you've enrolled in MFA, your account will remain enrolled, and you won't have the option to remove it.
Can I switch from Adaptive MFA to Mandatory MFA?
Absolutely! You can opt to make MFA mandatory for every login attempt. Simply adjust this setting through the account security settings screen.
What should I do if I lose access to my phone or if I get a new phone number?
If you lose access to your phone or get a new number, don't worry! You can either set up a backup method like an additional multi-factor authentication (MFA) method if available, or contact Customer Service to disable the lost phone as an MFA method and set up a new one for continued account security.
Why did my friend have to set up MFA, but I didn't?
Our system checks where you're logging in from, what device you're using, and your login history making sure everything's safe. If something seems strange, like an unusual login, we might ask for extra verification, such as setting up MFA. So, not everyone gets asked to set it up—it depends on how our system sees the login's safety.
How will MFA enhance the security of THE ICONIC account?
MFA makes your account extra secure by asking for more than just your password. It could be something you have, like a code sent to your phone, or something you are, like using your fingerprint or face to unlock. This makes it much harder for someone to get into your account without permission, even if they know your password. So, it's a big help in keeping your account safe from unauthorized access and data breaches.
What measures is THE ICONIC taking to ensure the security and reliability of the MFA system?
Here's how we ensure the reliability and safety of our MFA system:
-
- Trusted Partnerships: We've teamed up with well-known and trusted providers who are experts in MFA solutions. They bring their top-notch security infrastructure to safeguard your account.
- Strong Authentication: We use strong authentication methods like one-time passwords (OTPs) to add extra layers of security to your login process.
- Constant Monitoring: Our MFA system is under constant monitoring. We keep an eye on the dashboard for any signs of suspicious activity. Plus, we've set up alerts to promptly spot and tackle any potential threats.
Why are you only doing this now, considering that THE ICONIC has been an e-commerce platform for quite a while?
We're rolling out MFA now because we've become more aware of security threats and the need for stronger user authentication. MFA offers an extra layer of protection, giving you more control over the safety of your account. While many of our security features work behind the scenes, MFA provides a visible way for you to ensure your account's security.
